Quality control

The medical laboratory has been committed to quality control for several years now. We are members of the “Bioquality" program, an accreditation support organization; accreditation will become compulsory for all medical test laboratories from 1 November 2016.

Up to now, the laboratory had to meet the French GBEA I and II requirements (Guide to Good Execution of Medical Tests). At present, compulsory accreditation relates to ISO EN 15189 standard.

Quality control is implemented at every stage of the work that we do :

  • Tailored and confidential handling of your medical laboratory file from the moment of reception and during follow-up.

  • Samples handled by qualified staff in an environment complying with the strictest standards in the area of hygiene and safety.

  • Testing of the samples collected.

All the tests are performed under the control of responsible technicians and are validated by the laboratory scientists. The tests regularly undergo Internal and External Quality Control measures (IQC and National Quality Control respectively) organized by the AFSSAPS and other external quality assessment programs.

  • Sending the results

The results are sent to the prescribers by fax, telephone or post depending on the urgency. A copy of the test report is given or sent to every patient; the sending of the results complies with strict confidentiality conditions.

  • Information to patients

The laboratory scientists are at the disposal of patients at all times to respond to questions regarding the tests and the interpretation of the results.
